Every weekend, I will detail my activities and expenses to provide an example of how to implement a frugal mindset while still having a fun and active life.

Friday

I spent Friday evening just relaxing. I did some writing, played Call of Duty, and read for part of the night. I went to a costume party Thursday night so I didn’t feel like doing much Friday. Still, it was an enjoyable evening.

Saturday

I spent Saturday being oddly, though surprisingly, productive! I went grocery shopping in the morning. This was mainly to buy peanut butter to make brownies for a party that night, but I ended up spending $34 on a few items for the week.

It was a nice surprise that even at 10a, the Halloween candy was already marked off to 75% so I picked up two bags for trick-or-treaters. I have discovered that Shop Rite bagels taste very good and are only $0.59. So when I go there on the weekends, I pick up a bagel too. So I had a yummy bagel, egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast. This is a very quick (10 minutes) breakfast and quite cheap; especially since I always have eggs and blocks of cheese on hand.

In the afternoon, I baked the peanut butter brownies and a batch of cookies (I already had the cookie dough made, I just had to thaw it out then bake). Then I did some laundry and hemmed a pair of my work pants. I really love my new sewing machine!

Saturday night, I went to a Halloween party at a friend’s house. The only costs of this was the baked goods (which I offered) and driving there. They had snacks and alcoholic drinks so I’d say the costs evened out. I had a lot of fun and it was definitely cheaper than going to a bar.

Sunday

I spent Sunday relaxing, since I had been so productive on Saturday! I fixed the seam on a friend’s duvet cover, watched a Netflix movie, then watched the Yankees!
